  • Youth

Youth Sunday school is for students in middle school through the 12th grade. We meet in the youth room upstairs near the sanctuary. The focus of Sunday School in Youth is to develop a strong understanding of the Bible, and how to apply its importance to our daily lives.

The Coffee & Donut Class is a discussion-type group where every member is welcome to express his ideas, experiences and opinions.  At the present time their attendance is between five and ten men, although they are a non-discriminatory class.  They have even invited ladies to teach the class on occasion.  They use the Adult Student as the basis for their considerations and they have a discussion leader rather than a teacher.  They attempt to relate the Bible lesson, always their starting point, to world and national events and to the community and personal concerns.  They would be happy for anyone to join them.

The Discovery Class is a Bible Study Class that meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. for “Young” Adults, both single and married.  Their focus is based on applying the Bible and Christian principles to everyday life.  They routinely study and discuss family, children, finances, work, personal growth and the world in which we live as it relates to the teachings of scripture and Jesus’ teachings.  They have a great group of people that enjoys study, social events, participation in church, children/youth ministries and supporting each other in their walk with Christ.

The Horizons Class is a (40’s something) discussion-type Bible study group where every member is welcome and encouraged to express their ideas, experiences and opinions.

The Joy class is a mixed age group of men, women, couples, and singles who enjoy being together each Sunday morning.  The class time begins with the sharing and praying for concerns of class members, as well as, church and community.  We rejoice with each other during the good times and we are very supportive of each other in times of crisis.  The “tie that binds” us together is the love of Jesus Christ and His Church; desire to learn more about the scriptures and how they apply to our everyday life; and the fellowship of each other.  Now don’t you want to be a part of a group like this? We WELCOME you!
Phyllis Campbell and Brenda Pierce are co-teachers. The lessons are presented in such a way that everyone feels free to offer their insight, ask questions and maybe even disagree sometimes.  We always leave each Sunday ‘feeling good that we have been in the House of the Lord.”
Our class members are actively involved in many of the outreach ministries of our church.  One of our class ministries is to share communion to residents of the local nursing home on the first Sunday of the month.  We have a time of singing, a devotion and the sharing of the sacraments.
We invite YOU to visit the Joy Class
Koinonia Sunday School Class is an adult class. They meet at 9:45 for fellowship and prayer with the study beginning at 10:00 am each Sunday.
The Koinonia Sunday School Class was started by a few young adults in 1988.  The class focuses its studies on books of the Bible as well as current issue studies. They have frequent fellowship dinners and have enjoyed canoe trips, beach outings and picnics.
The Greek word Koinonia means intense fellowship.
There is little reason to quandary about the name of our class.  We love each other and stress the opportunity for each of us to love others.  What a great and wonderful bond we have!!!  Every Sunday morning we are so delighted to see each other.  We each have our own theological beliefs and experiences all wrapped in our love for God, His love for us, and our love for each other.
Our class consists of varied ages, with the most diversity in the church.  We also have both men and women.  Ann Mills is our teacher.  She writes a proclamation on the board each Sunday for us to recite together.  We compile a prayer list for Harold Clendenin to take to the Lord on our behalf.  Ann makes our class lessons interesting and informative.  Currently, we are studying the Book of Esther, accompanied by a video series by Beth Moore.
We have tears and laughter in our Love Class.  We consider each person’s opinions and work together to learn the word of God and apply it to our daily life.
If we had a Bible verse that best describes our class, it would be:
John 13:34-35.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another:  even as I have loved you,—-By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Seekers Sunday School Class is an older adult class led by Sue Cooper.
This class is a “sharing” and “hugging” class. Our discussions relate Biblical principles
to daily life. Men and women are welcome. Class time is 9:45 a.m.

Ignite is a college to young adult Sunday School class.
